2011 May--The Fingerprint of God in You-Women’s Ministry
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27 NIV
Listen to Genesis Chapter 1 KJV
30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Matthew 10:30 NIV
Listen to Matthew Chapter 10 KJV
All you need to do is take a walk outside and look at all of God’s wonderful creations to see how unique you actually are. Even your own fingerprint is a one of a kind. Just for a moment let’s look at things outside first. Flowers of the same variety have similarities, but none are exactly alike. Leaves are the same way. Study a few flowers and leaves just to see for yourself, the beauty is all their own. Each of them unique, each of them beautiful and offer’s something that the other does not. The same can be said about you! God made each of us uniquely different for a reason, for a purpose. It is easy to forget sometimes that the all mighty Creator took the time to design and create you before you were even born, he called you by name, and he knows how many hairs are on our head. Let’s look at what the word fingerprint means:
Fingerprint--any unique or distinctive pattern that presents unambiguous evidence of a specific person.
The evidence of that specific person is God in you. God has even made your fingerprints unique! Fingerprints are the traces of an impression from the friction ridges of any part of a human hand. The flexibility of friction ridge skin means that no two finger or palm prints are ever exactly alike in every detail; even two impressions recorded immediately after each other from the same hand. Everyone is known to have unique, immutable fingerprints. Even our feet have prints. In short no one is exactly like you. That is not all that is unique about you. As with all things we all have some similarities, we are all made in God’s image. We all have the same basic similarities just like the flowers and leaves we looked at, such as we all have a heart, legs, eyes, etc. However God made you very unique just like the beautiful flowers and you have something to offer that no one else can. You have been shaped by your life experiences, the trials and the victories. You have a crown of beauty for ashes, oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair if you let God lead you.
