2011 March--A Light Unto My Path-Children’s Ministry
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalms 119:105 KJV
This month let your kids learn this verse and make for themselves a light-switch cover for their bedroom. Depending on what is available to you, you can do a simple and fun project with your children.
Supplies
Child safe scissors
Glue or tape
Crayons or markers
Screwdriver (adult use)
Depending on which method you choose either contact paper, regular paper and laminating paper or self-stick printer paper.
Instructions
1. Mom or Dad Remove light switch cover
2. Depending on which type of paper you use, the instructions are the same; cut out a template of your switch cover after drawing it. It does not have to be perfect as you can fold excess of the edges. It is easiest to mark the center where the switch actually is with an X and fold that into the switch.
3. Let your kids decorate color or even write the verse if they want to on the template.
4. Apply your child’s masterpiece to the switch plate cover. If you used regular paper you can glue or tape it on (laminating paper will make it last longer), if you used any of the self-adhesive type papers you can just apply them.
5. Parent Replace Cover, Enjoy
Tips and tricks—this can be a fun project for any room of the house. You can also find a lot of free templates and simply print them online.
